Costco gift cards — called Shop Cards[1] — make great presents, though the wholesaler’s limited brick-and-mortar stores make it difficult for many to drop by their local Costco and pick one up.

In addition to buying them in-store, you can purchase a Shop Card from Costco’s official website.[2][1]

You must be a Costco member to purchase a Costco gift card. Because of this requirement, Costco doesn’t sell its gift cards through third-party retailers like Walmart, Target, or Kroger.[2][3][4]

Shop Cards are available in denominations from $25 to $2,000.[5] However, Costco occasionally runs specials that allow members to save a few dollars on Costco Shop Cards.[6]

Who Can Use Costco Gift Cards?

Though only members can purchase Costco Shop Cards, members and non-members alike can use the cards.[2][7]

If you aren’t a member, you can show your Costco Shop Card at the door (with a balance on it) and enter the store.[8]
