Best Buy accepts TV returns within 15 days of purchase or delivery, corporate customer service representatives said.
If you are a Best Buy Totaltech member, you are eligible for an extended return period of 60 days.
TV returns fall under Best Buy’s standard Return & Exchange Promise, which applies to new, open-box, refurbished, pre-owned, and clearance items.
It’s best to bring your invoice or receipt and all original packaging and included accessories when making a TV return at Best Buy.
However, Best Buy will process returns with open boxes, missing packaging, and missing accessories, representatives said.
Keep in mind, the cost of any missing accessories may be deducted from your refund.
If you can’t find your receipt, a store associate may be able to look up your purchase using your Best Buy Totaltech member information or the credit card you used to make the purchase.
If a store associate is unable to find a record of your purchase, a store manager will need to approve a no-receipt return — in which case you will likely be issued store credit if approved.
In most cases, refunds will be issued to the original method of payment.
For in-store returns, Best Buy will process the refund immediately, except for those returns that require a refund by check (as detailed below).
For returns by mail, Best Buy will issue the refund within two weeks of receiving your item.
Note that if you paid using a credit or debit card in-store or online, your refund may first appear as a pending transaction on your account; processing time will vary depending on the issuing bank for your card and may take up to seven business days.
Purchases made with cash may be refunded as a check if your total is more than $800. Similarly, purchases made with a check totaling more than $250 will be refunded by check. Your refund check will arrive within 10 business days of your return.
How to Return a TV to Best Buy
To return a TV, head to the customer service area of your nearest Best Buy store.
Returns are available during regular store hours. Best Buy is typically open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

There are no additional restrictions for TVs purchased and returned near a major sporting event, such as the Super Bowl, a corporate customer service representative said.
However, Best Buy may deny returns for items that are not in like-new condition or have been damaged by the customer.
