Short Answer
BI-LO doesn’t have a companywide return policy. However, most of its stores allow returns for items that are defective or spoiled. BI-LO offers refunds to the original payment method or as store credit. For more about making returns at BI-LO, see below.
BI-LO Return Policy
BI-LO doesn’t have an official, companywide return policy. However, in general, you can return items to BI-LO “within reason,” meaning there is an issue with the item, it’s defective, or the food is spoiled.[1][2]
There’s no set time limit, but you can’t, for example, wait for an item to expire and then try to return it. You also can’t return food items that are half-eaten (unless you find a problem with the food).[1]
Standard Return Process
To make a return, you’ll need to bring the item and your receipt to a BI-LO store during regular store hours. You may also want to bring your driver’s license or another form of ID.[1] The store can’t look up your receipt, and the manager has the discretion to deny your return without proof of purchase.[2]
If the store accepts your return, you’ll receive a refund to your original payment method, unless you paid with cash or a check — in that case, you’ll receive a trade-in voucher you can use at any BI-LO store.[1] Note that items purchased with WIC benefits aren’t returnable at BI-LO.[2]
Pick-Up and Delivery Order Returns
Items from curbside pickup or online delivery orders are eligible for return under the same rules noted above. Visit your local BI-LO during regular store hours and return the item(s) to the store in person at the customer service station.[1]
Returns to a Closing Store
Note that you typically can’t make returns or receive a refund at a BI-LO store that’s closing.[1] At closing stores, sales are final. However, we contacted several BI-LO stores in Georgia and found that a few closing locations were still accepting returns. You may want to contact your local BI-LO to double-check its current policy before visiting.
