Normal wear and tear is damage that occurs from regular use and includes broken zippers, loosened stitching, a general breakdown of materials over time, scuffs, scratches, and marks. (Cabela’s used to offer a lifetime guarantee that included normal wear and tear on its store-brand products, but the program has been discontinued.)

Cabela’s considers the typical lifetime of store-brand waders to be about four or five years.

While Cabela’s does not repair products, the store will often issue a full replacement or a percentage off a new pair of waders within four to five years of the purchase date if a manufacturing defect occurs.

Within one year of the purchase date, waders are typically replaced. After one year of use, the waders will be evaluated to determine if a replacement pair or discount will be issued. Discount amounts vary, depending on the condition of the waders.

To make a claim, bring your waders to any Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops retail store. You will need to show your original purchase information, such as a receipt. Waders can often be replaced the same day in stores. If the same item is not available in-store, it can be ordered and shipped.
