Can JCPenney Look up a Receipt?
JCPenney store associates can look up a receipt if the purchase was made with a debit or credit card within one year, a corporate customer service representative said. We contacted JCPenney stores in Colorado, Florida, Michigan, New Mexico, and Oklahoma to verify this information.
To make a return at JCPenney and get a full refund to your original payment method, you’ll need to bring the receipt or have the store look up your purchase. If the store is unable to look up your receipt, you may still be allowed to make a return or exchange — but you’ll be issued store credit for the lowest selling price of the item in the past 45 days. Returns without a receipt are not guaranteed.
