PayPal Credit doesn’t offer a traditional card number that you can use for purchases. Instead, you can only use PayPal Credit at websites that provide an integrated PayPal login.[1][2]
Unlike traditional credit cards from issuers like Visa and Mastercard, PayPal Credit doesn’t come with a physical or digital card. It is a cardless line of credit that you can’t use at brick-and-mortar or online stores that don’t take PayPal.[1] (See our related list of places that do accept PayPal Credit.)
How to Use PayPal Credit
When using PayPal Credit, you’ll be presented with a PayPal option at checkout; select it, then enter your PayPal login information.
If PayPal Credit is an option, it’ll display on your screen after you log in; otherwise, you’ll need to pay with an alternative method, such as a different credit card or a bank account linked to your PayPal account.[2]
PayPal Cards With Numbers
While PayPal Credit is cardless and only valid for online purchases, PayPal does offer several that you can use anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
If you’d prefer a physical card and number, consider one of the following options:
- PayPal Cashback Mastercard (credit card)
- PayPal Extras Mastercard (credit card)
- PayPal Cash Mastercard (debit card)
- PayPal Prepaid Mastercard (prepaid debit card)
