QuikTrip, or QT for short, accepts EBT at all of its convenience store locations, but there are limitations on what you can purchase. These restrictions are mandated by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, not QT. For the details, see below.
Does QuikTrip Take EBT?
You can use your EBT card at any of QuikTrip’s 700+ convenience store locations. But, keep in mind, EBT and SNAP benefits can only be used to purchase food items. And, SNAP benefits cannot be used to purchase hot foods or foods that are made to order, a QuikTrip corporate representative said in accordance with SNAP guidelines.
While you can purchase gas, hot food items, and over-the-counter medications (all items exempt from SNAP benefits) at QuickTrip, you’ll need to separate your order if you want to use your EBT card on eligible food purchases; the QuickTrip system cannot distinguish between SNAP-approved and exempt items, meaning your payment method will be denied if you try to buy gas and bread at the same time using your EBT card.
Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is part of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). SNAP benefits are often transferred to an EBT card; EBT cards function like debit cards to make SNAP-approved purchases. To find out what you can and cannot buy with SNAP benefits, see our article: What Can You Buy with Food Stamps/EBT? Listed. Plus What You Can’t.
