First Responder Car Discounts Listed (Many to Choose From!)

Short Answer: Many major car brands offer discounts to first responders, including Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GM, and Jeep. Some discounts follow a companywide policy; others are set by individual dealerships. First Responder Car Discounts

First responders include emergency medical technicians (EMTs), firefighters, paramedics, police officers, sheriffs and more. To find out about available discounts for first responders, we contacted the corporate office of each of the following car brands and confirmed the information with individual dealerships.

FCA First Responders’ Incentive Program (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram)

  • Discount amount: Discounts range from $2,000 to $10,300, depending on the brand and model you choose. One dealer we contacted said it offers a 1% discount across all four brands on current-year vehicles.
  • Proof of service required: You’ll need to present a current police, firefighter, or EMT ID badge.
  • Exclusions: Special-edition models, such as SRT and Trackhawk

Ford First Responder Appreciation Program (Ford and Lincoln)

  • Discount amount: Ford and Lincoln offer $1,000 cash back on a new purchase or lease and $500 cash back on most used vehicles.
  • Proof of service required: You’ll need to present an ID showing proof of active service in one of Ford’s approved occupations. Approved occupations include 911 dispatchers, police officers, sheriffs, state troopers, correctional officers, some federal law enforcement officers, career and volunteer firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics. Ford also uses an online credential verification platform called ID.me that will issue an authorization number to applicants; this number qualifies as proof of service.
  • Exclusions: Ford Focus RS, Ford Mustang Shelby GT350/GT350R, Ford Mustang BULLITT, Ford GT, Ford F-150 Raptor, Lincoln Corsair, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring

GM First Responder Discount (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac)

  • Discount amount: GM offers a discount on pricing at the supplier level. The first responder discount is available on a new purchase or lease; discounts vary by vehicle make and model.
  • Proof of service required: You’ll need to present an ID showing proof of active service as a 911 dispatcher, police officer, sheriff, state trooper, correctional officer, federal law enforcement officer, career or volunteer firefighter, EMT, or paramedic. GM also uses an online credential verification platform called ID.me that will issue an authorization number to applicants; this number qualifies as proof of service.

  • Proof of service required: You’ll need to present an ID or other verifiable proof of active service, such as a recent pay stub. Additionally, you must be able to cover the cost of the vehicle at your current salary and receive credit approval from Hyundai.
  • Exclusions: Demo or fleet vehicles, service car rentals, and Hyundai Circle plan sales

  • Discount amount: Volkswagen offers a $500 bonus on the purchase or lease of a new vehicle.
