Food delivery can be a fast and convenient alternative to cooking when you can’t or don’t want to do so.

However, some food delivery services require a credit card and don’t allow customers to pay cash on delivery.

If you prefer to pay in cash, we have the list of food delivery services and large chain restaurants that accept cash below. We also list those that don’t accept cash, so you aren’t left wondering.

The List

We’ve ordered the list starting with the most widely-available options.

Note that cashless delivery may not be available for all orders; some services restrict cash payments for specific restaurants or contactless deliveries.

Grubhub

  • What it delivers: Restaurant food, convenience items, and grocery items[1]
  • Payment options: Cash, Apple Pay, Android Pay, PayPal, gift cards, and credit cards[2]
  • Fees: Vary by order; Grubhub+ members get waived delivery fees but may still pay service fees.[3]
  • Order online

DoorDash

  • What it delivers: Restaurant food as well as items from convenience stores, drug stores, and grocery stores;[4] note that the cash on delivery option isn’t available for contactless deliveries.[5]
  • Payment options: Cash on delivery, credit card, debit card, PayPal, and DoorDash credits/gift cards[5][4]
  • Fees: Vary by the merchant, order subtotal, and local demand; DashPass members get $0 delivery fees on most orders and lower service fees.[6]

  • Fees: Vary; Delivery.com doesn’t charge delivery fees, but some merchants do, and there are service fees of around $5 in some cities.[18]

Seamless

  • What it delivers: Local and chain restaurants[19]
  • Payment options: Cash, Apple Pay, Android Pay, eGift Cards, and credit cards[20]
  • Fees: Vary by order; waived for Seamless+ members on most orders of $12 or more[21]
