While there is no corporate-level senior discount at Giant Food, a select few Maryland Giant stores have a senior discount program; you can sign up in-store, online, or via the app and Giant will send you coupons in the mail. To sign up online, you must have a Giant account and sign in.
To get this information, we contacted corporate customer service representatives and spoke with store locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Other Ways to Save at Giant Food
If your local store does not offer a senior discount, there are a few other ways to save at Giant. There are technically two Giant chains — Giant, LLC and The Giant Food Company– which are sibling companies run by the same parent company. We’ve outlined a few ways you can save at both chains below.
- Weekly ad: You can find your local store’s Weekly Circular on the Giant website; enter your zip code to find the ad for your store.
- Giant Card: Your Giant Card membership gets you exclusive deals and coupons through the Giant mobile app and website, along with gas reward points for every dollar you spend at Giant. While the Giant Card is only offered by Giant, LLC, the Giant Food Company offers a similar loyalty program called Giant Choice Rewards.

In February 2019 Giant management told me I had to sign up with my Giant card, so I filled out a form for them to submit. Apparently I was lied to, along with all the other senior citizens who frequent Giant in Falls Church. They owe us an apology and our discount!
We are sorry to hear about your negative experience, Susan! As noted in our article, the senior discount policy varies by store, which unfortunately means that some stores do not offer it at all. We do have a section devoted to senior discounts which you may find useful in identifying other stores with discounts in your area.
