Stores with Their Own Grocery Delivery Service
The following stores offer grocery delivery service in select areas. Keep in mind that there may be additional fees for home grocery delivery, though for many, it can certainly be worth the extra money to avoid the standard supermarket trip.
Albertsons, a regional chain with over 600 locations in the western U.S., offers home delivery service in select areas. You can enjoy same-day grocery delivery within a one-hour delivery window if you place your grocery order online before 8:30 AM. Costco is a popular nationwide wholesale grocery store with in-store shopping for members only. Members can also choose to have their grocery orders delivered through the Costco Grocery Program, which is free for orders of $75 or more. Shipping fees apply to orders less than $75. There are some restrictions to Costco’s delivery service, including:
- Only non-perishable food and sundries (marked CostcoGrocery on the store’s website) can be delivered
- Deliveries take two days
- Weekend delivery is not available

3. Harris Teeter
East Coast grocery chain Harris Teeter offers grocery delivery through their Expresslane online shopping services. Simply place your online order, and your groceries will be delivered the same day.
Grocery delivery from Harris Teeter is available in select areas of MD, NC, SC, and VA. Visit the Harris Teeter Expresslane page and enter your zip code to see if delivery is available in your area.
Midwest grocery store chain Hy-Vee offers grocery delivery service in select areas when you order online through the Hy-Vee Aisles Online website. To find out if Hy-Vee delivers in your area, create an account on the Hy-Vee Log In or Register page and enter your zip code.
If you’re in the Southeast U.S., you may be able to enjoy grocery delivery service from Publix. The service is available in select areas for now, but Publix states that they’re constantly expanding grocery delivery areas. Visit the Publix delivery page to find out if delivery is available in your area and to place your order online.
Western and mid-Atlantic shoppers may have a Safeway that delivers to your area. You can order through the website or the Safeway app for same-day home grocery delivery. Head to the Safeway delivery page and enter your zip code to see if delivery services are available to you, and to place your online order.
Nationwide superstore Walmart is now providing grocery pickup service (place your order online and stop by your local Walmart to have the groceries loaded into your car) for some stores, and home delivery service in select areas. The chain plans to expand this service to more areas soon. To find out if Walmart grocery delivery is available in your area, head to the Walmart Grocery page and enter your zip code. 8. Whole Foods
Whole Foods grocery delivery service powered by Instacart offers home delivery in as little as one hour. Not all stores have delivery available, so you can visit the Whole Foods Instacart page and enter your zip code to check availability in your area, and to place your order.
Multi-Store Grocery Delivery Services
These grocery delivery service companies offer personal shoppers for home delivery service from select grocery stores in your area.
This personal shopper website allows you to schedule home grocery delivery once a week from any nearby store, including Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. Grocery delivery service from Envoy costs $12 plus 10% of your total grocery bill per delivery, and offers a monthly membership plan where the same personal shopper is assigned to you for more personalized service. When you sign up for Envoy you also get a free 30-day trial of the service.
Instacart is a nationwide service that has partnered with many national and regional grocery store chains to provide home grocery delivery in most areas. Instacart offers same-day delivery in as little as one hour.
There are two ways to use Instacart:
- Place an order any time at any store that uses Instacart, and pay a per-delivery fee that varies according to the amount of your order
- Subscribe to Instacart Express for an annual fee of $149 and get free one-hour or two-hour delivery on all orders over $35

Non-store-specific grocery delivery service from Peapod is available in most areas across the country. With Peapod, you can place a delivery order for a minimum of $60 any time and have your list delivered for a fixed fee:
