Short Answer: We could not find any hotels that accept PayPal. But you can use Airbnb. If you stay at an Airbnb, paying with PayPal is as simple as paying with any other method. Plus if you sign up using our referral link, you’ll get $35 toward your first trip (credit amount subject to change). Alternatively, you can pay for your hotel room with a PayPal Mastercard-branded debit or credit card. For more details, see below.
Hotels That Accept PayPal, PayPal Credit, etc.
All of the major hotel chains we contacted said they do not accept PayPal as a direct form of payment. That means you can’t make a reservation with PayPal or pay for your room with your PayPal account. You also cannot use PayPal Credit to book or pay for a hotel room either. However, PayPal is accepted by several restaurant chains and online retailers.
One workaround is to sign up for a PayPal Mastercard-branded debit or credit card. The PayPal Cash Card gives you access to the funds in your PayPal account and you can use the card anywhere Mastercard is accepted (all of the hotel chains we contacted accept Mastercard). Keep in mind, you can only charge up to $3,000 per day on your PayPal Cash Card and you’ll need to have enough money in your account or your card will be declined.
PayPal also offers two credit cards: the PayPal Cashback Mastercard, which gives you 2% cash back anywhere Mastercard is accepted, and the PayPal Extras Mastercard, which gives you rewards points for qualifying purchases. Either card should be accepted at any major hotel chain.
Alternately, you can book a hotel through an online booking site like Expedia, which allows you to pay via PayPal at checkout.
