Short Answer: Jewel-Osco allows customers to return or exchange virtually any product except alcohol. The return time limit varies by store; some don’t have a set return period, while others have limits as short as seven days. For more information on the return policy at Jewel-Osco, see below.
Jewel-Osco Return Policy
Jewel-Osco allows returns, but the rules vary by location. We contacted store locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa to find out more about returns at Jewel-Osco. About half of the stores we called have a time limit of seven days on returns, while the other half don’t have any return time limit.
Most products are eligible for return. The one exception is alcohol, which we were told is non-refundable.
If you have the original receipt and unopened package, this will allow for easier returns or exchanges. However, if you’re missing the receipt and/or the package (or the package is open), Jewel-Osco may still process your return at the discretion of the store manager.
Note that several of the stores we spoke with wouldn’t accept returns without receipts, and Jewel-Osco employees can’t look up receipts in stores. You may want to contact your local store to double-check its receipt policy before visiting.
Jewel-Osco allows returns at any time during regular store hours. Visit the customer service desk for assistance with the item and its original packaging and receipt (if available). You don’t need your ID to make a return at Jewel-Osco, and the company doesn’t track returns.
The return process at Jewel-Osco is the same for damaged items and items purchased via curbside pickup or delivery. Jewel-Osco doesn’t offer an extended holiday return policy.
Refunds will be in the original payment method, so if you made the purchase on a card, be sure to have it with you for the return. Returns without a receipt (if accepted) will receive a store credit.
