Depending on the item you purchased, you have 30 to 90 days from your original purchase date to return your special order, according to Lowe’s Returns Policy. Returns are easiest if your item is new and unused or “like-new” and you have your receipt. If you’ve lost your receipt but made your purchase with a credit card or checking account, or if you used your phone number when making your purchase, Lowe’s can retrieve your receipt and issue you a refund. If you paid in cash and Lowe’s can’t locate your receipt, it will likely issue you in-store credit.
If your purchase was for a major appliance (such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, or oven), outdoor power equipment (lawnmower, generator, etc.), a highway trailer, or liquid paint, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it; most other items fall under the 90-day policy. An item returned within 30 days must also be in “like-new” condition and, in the case of highway trailers, must be returned to the store it was purchased from and include the original paperwork.
