16 Restaurants That Accept PayPal: Pizza Places, Fast Food, etc

More retailers are now accepting alternate methods of payment like PayPal, including restaurants. But it’s not so common you can just wander into any ol’ place expecting them to be with the times.

Continue on for the list of restaurants accept PayPal — including delivery, fast food, and dine-in options. You can even use PayPal Credit.

How to Pay With PayPal at Restaurants

PayPal is a worldwide online payment system that can be used directly to pay at thousands of online and retail stores, either with a PayPal account balance or with funds drawn from bank accounts or credit cards connected to your PayPal account. If you don’t already have an account, you can create a PayPal account for free. It’s also free to link your checking account, debit card, or credit card to your PayPal account.

There are a few different ways to use PayPal at restaurants — directly through a restaurant’s website or app, or with a PayPal account connected to a digital wallet.

How to Use PayPal With a Website or App

Some delivery and fast food restaurants have an online ordering system where you can place your order for delivery or pickup through a website or dedicated app. Several of them offer PayPal as a payment method. To use PayPal with these restaurants, you would place your order online or through the app, and then choose the PayPal option at checkout.

How to Use PayPal With a Digital Wallet

Another way you can use PayPal at many restaurants is by linking your PayPal account to a digital wallet. A digital wallet is an app that allows you to pay in-store (or, in this case, in-restaurant) with your phone by tapping it against the checkout terminal. If you have a digital wallet enabled, your payment information will be automatically transmitted to the terminal.

Similar to PayPal itself, digital wallets can be linked to several funding sources, including checking accounts, debit cards, and credit cards. Of the three widely used digital wallets, two of them allow you to link your PayPal account as a funding source: Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The third popular digital wallet, Apple Pay, does not allow you to connect PayPal to your account.

To use PayPal with a digital wallet at restaurants that accept them, simply make sure your PayPal account is linked to your digital wallet and set it as the primary funding source (if you have more than one account connected). When you check out at the restaurant, make sure your phone is powered on, and then tap the back of it to the checkout terminal. Your phone will vibrate, indicating that payment has been successful.

Restaurants That Take PayPal

The following restaurants allow you to use PayPal to pay for your food purchases, either directly from through their website or app, or at the restaurant using Android Pay or Samsung Pay. We’ve broken these restaurants down into delivery, fast food, and dine-in options.

Keep in mind that PayPal can’t be linked with Apple Pay as a funding source, so if you have an iPhone, you won’t be able to use PayPal at dine-in or fast food restaurants that accept wireless payments. However, at these restaurants, you can still pay with your phone using a different funding source linked to your Apple Pay account.

This is the same list for restaurants that accept PayPal Credit if you’d like to pay with credit.
