Short Answer
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return a rug to Wayfair for a refund or store credit. However, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs and must return the rug in its original packaging and condition.
Wayfair Rug Return Policy Explained
According to three different Wayfair customer service representatives, Wayfair rugs fall under the store’s standard return policy. This means that you have 30 days from the date of delivery to return your rug and receive a refund or store credit (you decide which one you want).
There are two exceptions to this rule:
- The rug can’t be returned if it is a clearance item (unless it arrives damaged or defective)
- The rug can’t be marked “Non-Returnable” on the sale page
If you’d like to return a rug to Wayfair, go to the “My Orders” section of your account to initiate the return.
Once it’s complete, you will receive a confirmation with a printable shipping label to use for the return. Then bring your item to a nearby drop-off location.[1]
Keep in mind that you’ll need to return the rug in its original condition and packaging. If you’ve damaged the rug in any way, you will not be able to return it.
“Original packaging” simply means that you need to put the rug back in the packaging as best as you can. It does not mean that you can’t return the rug if the packaging has been ripped or damaged while removing the rug.
Once Wayfair accepts the returned item, you will receive store credit or a refund issued to your original method of payment, minus return shipping costs.
Return shipping costs can vary greatly depending on the size of the rug and your shipping location. Find more information on Wayfair’s return shipping costs.
Returns generally take one to two weeks to process.[2]
