While select restaurants on Grubhub accept cash on delivery, most don’t accept cash payments for Grubhub orders.
If cash is an available payment option, it’ll appear at the bottom of the payment screen on the checkout page. If you don’t see that option, you must pay with a credit card, debit card, gift card, or PayPal.[1][2]
In the course of our research, we were unable to identify any chain restaurants that accept cash for Grubhub orders.
Grubhub customer service doesn’t provide a list;[1][2] we also created test orders on the Grubhub app in several cities, none of which showed cash acceptance at major chain restaurants.
Rather than taking the time to search for a restaurant on Grubhub that takes cash, you may want to buy a Grubhub gift card with cash and then use the gift card to pay for your meal. Our previous research details where to buy Grubhub gift cards.
Note that payment methods may vary by location, particularly at restaurants that are franchised. Additionally, there may be locally-owned restaurants in your area that accept cash on Grubhub.
