You can load cash onto your Chime Card at over 90,000 retail locations nationwide, such as Walgreens, Walmart, and CVS.[1][2]
You can also deposit checks to your account through mobile deposit, receive payroll by direct deposit, and transfer funds from external bank accounts to your Chime account.[1][2]
Below, we detail where you can load your Chime Card in person and online, including the associated fees and limits.
What We Recommend
For cash loads, Walgreens or CVS are the best places to load your Chime Card.
Cash loads are free at both retailers, and they each have limits of $1,000 per day, which is the maximum allowed by Chime.[3][4]
If there isn’t a Walgreens or CVS in your area, Walmart is an option local to most, and its daily limit is the same — $1,000. However, it charges a fee of up to $3.74 per load.[5]
Note that cash deposits usually become available on your Chime Card within minutes, though it may take up to two hours. You can make up to three cash deposits every 24 hours.[1]
For online loads, the best option will vary depending on the type of funds you’re loading. Free mobile deposit is available for checks; you can also set up direct deposit or make transfers from a bank account into your Chime account.
