Short Answer — Fry’s Food offers a 10% senior discount on the first Wednesday of every month for customers aged 55 and older. To receive the senior discount, you must first join the Fry’s V.I.P. Club.
Fry’s Food Senior Discount Policy
The Fry’s Food senior discount is 10% off of all items, with a few exceptions.[1][2]
The discount does not apply to prescription drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, postage stamps, taxes, gift cards, Western Union money transfers and money orders, lottery tickets, Ticketmaster purchases, or any items purchased at Fry’s fuel centers (including fuel).[1][2]
To qualify for the Fry’s Food senior discount, you must be 55 or older and a member of Fry’s V.I.P Club, which is free to join.
Simply show proof of age (such as a driver’s license or another form of ID with your birthday on it), and the cashier will apply the 10% discount to your purchase.
Most locations will also allow you to use the senior discount for pickup orders if you show your ID to the associate who brings out your order.[1]

The Fry’s Food Promotions page also lists savings and events offered at every store location.
Unless the promotion explicitly says that it cannot be combined with any other offers, you can use the senior discount on top of weekly promotions.[1]

My mom lives in Phoenix and usually shops senior day. Since she is in the high risk group, she would like to try delivery. Can she still get the senior day discount on online orders? Thank you!
Hello, Julie! Because it partners with a third-party delivery service, Fry’s can only accept digital coupons for delivery orders. There would be no way for the delivery driver to verify and add the senior discount or any paper coupons to the order. However, as noted in our recent response to Pamela, your mom may be able to get the discount if she uses pick-up. Also, keep in mind that the discount day for April has already passed (April 1) — the next discount day is May 6. Best of luck with your order, and stay safe!
I have had a VIP card for years but now am eligible for the senior discount. How do I notify the store if I am strictly using pickup services? Do I have to shop in-store the first Wednesday of the month? In other words how do I change my VIP card to reflect my senior status?
Great question, Pamela! We contacted Fry’s and were told that you would still need to shop on the first Wednesday of the month, as that is the only day the senior discount is valid. However, you can use pick-up — just show your driver’s license (or other photo ID showing your age) to the person who brings out your order. Note that some stores may temporarily suspend senior day for safety reasons; you may want to call your local store before visiting.
Does Fry’s offer senior hours? If not, when will it do so? Thanks.
Hello, Merritt! Many Fry’s stores are currently offering dedicated senior hours from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday. However, this can vary by location; you may want to contact your local store to verify its senior hours. Have a safe shopping trip!
I have a Kroger Plus shoppers card. Can this be used in lieu of a Fry’s VIP card?
Hi Judi,
No, you have to sign up to be a member of Fry’s VIP club. It’s really very easy to sign up though. Online, they only ask for your email, name, and a ten digit number (they suggest phone number to help you remember it, but you can put any ten digits). Here’s the sign up page. If you don’t want to get emails from them be sure to un-select the boxes for receiving promotions near the bottom of the sign up page. Of course, you can also sign up in any store.
