None of the major banks in the U.S. have consistent late hours at all locations, but some offer extended hours at select branches.
Typically, the banks that offer extended hours will remain open until 6 p.m. during the week and will offer morning or early afternoon hours on Saturdays.[1][2][3][4][5]
Below, I’ve compiled the list of the major U.S. banks that are open outside of normal business hours — plus those that aren’t, so you’ll know where not to go.
The List
The following banks have branches that are open past normal business hours (i.e., after 5 p.m.) on at least some weekdays, and they are typically open on Saturdays as well.
I compiled this list by contacting individual branch locations and checking their stated hours against each bank’s online branch locator.
Keep in mind that exact hours vary by branch. The best way to find a branch with late hours near you is to use the bank’s branch locator, which lists each location’s hours and contact information.
I’ve listed these banks alphabetically so you can more easily find the option(s) that are relevant to you.

Banks That Aren’t Open Late
In the course of my research, I found that the following banks are not open late.
However, some of their branches may be available on Saturdays (usually opening at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. and closing between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., depending on the location).
- Ally (no physical branches)[12]
- Bank of America[13][14]
- BMO[15]
- Capital One[16][17]
- Charles Schwab[18]
- Chase Bank[19][20]
- CIT Bank (no physical branches)[21]
- Citibank[22][23]
- Citizens Bank[24][25]
- Discover (no physical branches)[26]
- HSBC[27]
- Huntington Bank[28][29]
- M&T Bank[30][31]
- Regions Bank[32][33]
- U.S. Bank[34][35]
- Valley National Bank[36][37]
- Wells Fargo [38][39]
Tip: While a select few branches also have Sunday hours, the majority of these banks are closed on Sundays. If all of your local branches are closed, Walmart’s Money Services counter is local to most, open on Sundays, and offers services like check cashing, money transfers, and bill payment.[40]
FAQ
None of the branches I contacted at any of the banks listed above stay open until 7 p.m. or later. I was also unable to find any 24-hour branches (though many banks have 24-hour ATMs).[1][2][3][4][5]
ATMs, online banking, and mobile bank apps offer services like deposits, withdrawals, and transfers 24/7.[1][3] To send money or pay bills, you can visit a Western Union or MoneyGram agent that’s open later than the bank.[41][42] If you need check cashing services, there are also some grocery stores that cash checks.
Transactions like deposits and transfers will follow the standard processing timeline when you use an ATM or the bank’s app after normal business hours. At most banks, your transaction will process within one to two business days.[43][44]
In Summary
While most banks operate during traditional business hours, a few offer extended hours in the evenings or on weekends.
Fifth Third Bank, KeyBank, PNC, TD Bank, and Truist each have locations that are open until 6 p.m. at some point during the week. These banks also have branches that are open on Saturdays, and select TD Bank branches are even open on Sundays.[1][2][3][4][5]
If your bank doesn’t have hours that suit your schedule, you can access its services through ATMs, its website, or its mobile app.[1][2][3][4][5] You might also want to consider visiting a grocery store, Western Union agent, or MoneyGram agent if you need services like money transfers or bill payments.[40][41][42]
