Short Answer — If you don’t renew your plan, your Straight Talk service will lapse on the plan’s stated end date at the same time that you initially activated the service. You can find your ending date by text message or by visiting the Straight Talk website. If you choose to cancel your plan early, your service will stop immediately.

When Does Straight Talk Service End?

If you choose not to renew your Straight Talk wireless plan, your service will end on your stated ending date at the same time that you activated the service.

For example, if you activated your 30-day Straight Talk plan at 2:57 p.m., it would stop working at 2:57 p.m. on your plan’s stated ending date.

We confirmed this information with Straight Talk’s customer service department.

If you choose to cancel your plan before the end date, Straight Talk will terminate your service immediately. There are no fees or penalties for ending your service early, but you will not be able to get a refund for any unused data or minutes.

You can cancel service by calling (877) 430-2355, and you can reactivate at any time.

How to Check Service End Time

There are a few ways to check your service end date and time. First, you can text “USAGE” to 611611. This will also provide you with your current data balance.

Alternatively, you can log on to the Straight Talk website and navigate to the “My Account” section to find your remaining service time.

Finally, you can enter your phone number or serial number on the Straight Talk check balance/service end date page.

Any of these methods will allow you to see when your service will end.

Can I Keep My Phone Number?

If you don’t renew your plan before the end date, your account will be deactivated, and you may lose your phone number, according to Straight Talk’s terms and conditions.

However, one customer service representative we spoke with told us that if you only deactivate your phone for a short time, you should still be able to keep your number.

The representative could not specify exactly how long you could go with lapsed service and a deactivated phone before losing your number. Online customer reports state that it typically takes about 30 days for out-of-service phone numbers to be deactivated entirely.
