Can You Return Perfume to Ulta Beauty?
Ulta Beauty’s fragrance return policy allows returns within 60 days of purchase online and in-store. You can return the fragrance unopened, opened, or tested.
Your return should include the receipt and must include the original packaging (if the perfume was packaged), a corporate customer service representative said.
The same policy applies to all shoppers, including Ultamate Rewards members. Ulta Beauty does not extend returns during the holiday season.
We spoke with store associates in Arkansas, Colorado, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Washington; all locations confirm they adhere to this corporate policy.
In-store returns are available at the registers at any time during regular store hours, and you can return items to any store. You will receive a refund immediately to the original form of payment.
You can return online or in-app fragrance purchases to any Ulta Beauty store or by mail. The item, packing slip, and all packing materials must accompany the return, whether you are returning by mail or in-store.
If mailing your return, you are responsible for paying the shipping charges to send the perfume back. Additionally, you will not receive a refund on shipping costs for your original order unless the item arrived damaged.
Ulta Beauty recommends shipping the item using a traceable method; however, you may choose any ground shipping method, such as USPS or UPS.
Once Ulta Beauty receives your mail-in return, your refund will be to the original payment method. You will receive an email notification when your refund is processed.
If you return the fragrance to a store and originally used PayPal or another online payment method, Ulta Beauty will credit your refund to your preferred credit or debit card or offer store credit.
Returns Without a Receipt
You can return a fragrance without the receipt at Ulta Beauty, but if you are an Ultamate Rewards member or you have an account at Ulta.com, an associate can look up your receipt.
Without a receipt, you will receive store credit for the lowest selling price of the perfume during the past 90-day period.
Keep in mind that without a receipt, you will also need to provide a driver’s license, state ID, or military ID to process the return.
Ulta Beauty does track returns, and it may impose restrictions if it suspects fraud or abuse of the return policy.
Returns After 60 Days
If it has been more than 60 days since your perfume purchase and you want to return it, Ulta Beauty will still process the return, both in-store and online.
However, your refund will be in the form of an eGift card (if you return the perfume by mail) or an Ulta Beauty gift card, whether or not you have the receipt.
For returns past 60 days without a receipt, Ulta Beauty will refund you the lowest price of the fragrance in the last 90 days.
