Store credit cards allow you to earn rewards at places where you regularly shop.
Below, we list the store credit cards that are easiest to obtain, including information about each card’s perks, fees, annual percentage rate (APR), approval time, and more so you can find the best option to fit your needs.
What We Recommend
The best store credit card for you will vary depending on your qualifications as an applicant, where you shop the most, and which perks you prefer.
However, Amazon’s credit cards, the Target RedCard, and the Walmart Rewards Card are the best overall options.
All three of these retailers will consider applicants with fair credit.
They also offer both closed-loop credit cards (which you can only use at that store) and open-loop credit cards (which you can use at other stores).
This can make it easier to get approved. If you qualify, you’ll get the open-loop card, but if you don’t, you may still be eligible for the store card.
Of these cards, the Amazon Rewards Visa Signature card has the lowest APR, so it earns the top spot on our list.
Be aware that using credit can negatively impact your credit score, especially if you have a weak or minimal credit history.
If you miss payments or default on the card, your creditor will report these issues to the major credit bureaus.
Be sure to note the APR and fees of any cards you consider, so you can factor them into your budget when making purchases.
In some instances, it makes more financial sense to save up for your purchase and buy it in full rather than paying the total item price plus interest.
