The List
While there aren’t very many gas stations that will cash checks of any kind today, there are still some that do offer this service.
Typically gas stations that are attached to grocery stores will be able to cash checks, although not necessarily at the gas station itself; you will most likely need to go into the store to have your check cashed.
Here is the list of major gas stations that will cash checks, including payroll checks, government checks, and personal checks.
Kroger
- Cashes checks? Yes, but only inside of a Kroger store and not at the actual gas station.

However, payroll checks, government checks, tax refund checks, insurance checks, child support, and business checks can be cashed. A current ID and a social security number or individual taxpayer identification number will be required.[1]
