However, payroll checks, government checks, tax refund checks, insurance checks, child support, and business checks can be cashed.   • Additional information: Personal and business/organization checks must be used to make a purchase and can be written up to $25 over or up to $5 over on a gas purchase to receive cash. Traveler’s checks are also accepted for up to $100 towards your purchase.[2]
