Does Giant Food Cash Checks?
Giant Food will cash personal checks, and if you apply and are approved for a Payroll and Business Check Cashing card in your local store, it will cash payroll and government checks.
Giant Food may also cash welfare checks if you present a government-issued ID.
You can cash a check during normal business hours; most stores are open from around 6 a.m. until midnight.

You must meet the following requirements to cash a check at Giant Food:
Check Cashing Card
As noted above, to cash a payroll or government check, you will need to apply for a Payroll and Business Check Cashing card.
Note that individual stores determine approval for and issue the Payroll and Business Check cashing card.
Identification
The first time you cash a check at Giant Food, or if you do not appear in the TeleCheck verification system, you must show a photo ID when cashing your check.
Giant Food will accept a valid driver’s license, military ID, or state-issued photo ID card as identification.
TeleCheck Verification
Giant Food uses TeleCheck, a third-party check verification company, to process checks and protect against fraud using predictive analysis.
The store will run your check through its TeleCheck system, which then decides if it should accept your check.
You will need to sign and endorse all checks. If your check is approved, you’ll also sign a receipt and be given a copy that you can keep for your records.
If TeleCheck declines your check, you can dispute the decision by calling TeleCheck at (888) 398-2331 or by filling out the online TeleCheck dispute form.

Fees and Limits
Fees for check cashing at Giant Food vary by location but are generally around $1 or $1.50 per check.
You do not need to be a rewards member to cash checks at Giant Food, and there is no companywide limit on the number of checks you can cash or the dollar amount of the checks. However, Giant Food may enforce a limit based on your TeleCheck profile.
Exclusions
Giant Food will not cash:
